Discover the community-based tourism project of Chayotepec and visit its stunning nature reserve and be part of the everyday, ancient ways of life of the Zapotecs of Oaxaca.. Take guided hikes through the lush mountains where you’ll find trails flanked by beautiful orchids, bromelias and spanish moss. Our reservation area counts with over 200 species of birds and butterflies! You’ll also have the chance to participate in our everyday activities of (depending on the season) harvesting coffee, maiz, beans or milking cows! Try your hand at making tortillas or learn about our history, ways of forest conservation or alternative forms of medicine!
